Late 2008 saw the first volume of the Issues #1-#5 of season 8 in comic form. (Episodes 1-5 in a collection arch called Long Way Home)
This surprisingly is a good read.

The comics are labeled Season 8 as not to be confused with the other many Buffy comics on the market.
They did the same thing for Angel giving him a Season 6 in comic form.
